Question:

How can we perform global threshold technique on an image in MATLAB?

Inactive
Shibdas B.

Thresholding is a process of extracting foreground from the background of an image. In this technique objects from an image can be isolated by converting grayscale images into black and white.Global thresholding suggests setting one threshold value for the whole image.Say if intensity level for thresholding set to 120 then anything above 120 can be set to 1 means white and rest to black. Otsu's method for global thresholding is one of the most popular thresholding methods which can be implemented using graythresh() function in MATLAB.graythresh() function calculates the intensity level and returns a value between 0 to 1. Syntax: intensity = graythresh(Image); Next to convert the image into binary imbinarize() function is used. Syntax:bw=imbinarize(Image,Intensity); after binarizing, we will get a binary image from the gray image.

Question:

What are the disadvantages of DDA line drawing algorithm?

Inactive
Shibdas B.

DDA line drawing algorithm has got some shortfalls discussed below 1. DDA deals with floating point arithmetic, hence it is time-consuming. 2.Rounding off is also a time-consuming procedure adopted by DDA algorithm. 3.DDA is not much accurate as it does rounding off.

Question:

How does 'if' decision statement works in C?

Inactive
Shibdas B.

'if' is a decision statement in C programming that performs some actions whenever a condition passed into it is evaluated to true on the contrast it does not perform anything when the condition is false. For example 1. int main() 2. {int a=5,b=6; 3. if(b>a) 4. printf (" b is greater than a"); 6. return 0; } in line, 3 b> a condition is true because the value of b is greater than a given.Hence line number 4 will be executed. The output will be 'b is greater than a', now if the condition is changed to a>b in line 3 then no output will be produced as the control will not be transferred to line 4.
