Questions
Subject: Professional Development
As a previous Career Consultant and Resume Writer, before writing and assembling your employment documents, you want to align this with your career goals. What is your ideal next step?
I have been looking for a career in X industry for ## of weeks, and have not had much success. I believe I bring 10 years of experience in this industry and have experience with independent and collaborative projects, subject matter expertise, and functional information regarding this role. I have these publications, this industry award, these core competencies, and I have crafted my branding statement using keyword optimization. I need assistance creating themes to write my narrative into my resume for future employment.
Subject: Library and Information Science
I need to locate a journal article from this obscure publication from 1984 written by author Smith, Winston. How do I find this using my university's website? I need this by tomorrow.
We will need to locate your university library's website and ensure we have your correct log-in information and it's activated for use. If you know the journal title, article title, or author, we can use your library's discovery system to search. Otherwise, we can browse by subject to locate the correct database hosting the journal. Once we have found the journal's location, we can refine our results. You can refine by searching within the journal by date, author, or article title. Once we have located the article, you will need to see if it's available full-text. Most often, you can save or share this information.
Subject: Psychology
Define the four "givens" of existential psychology and the human condition.
There are four existential "givens": 1) Freedom and responsibility, 2) Death, 3) Isolation, and 4) Meaninglessness. 1) Freedom and responsibility means we have the freedom to make choices - we have free-will - but that means that we are responsible for the choices we make. 2) Death is something that happens to all humans, and it's up to us to cope and make sense of this, to use our life. 3) We are born into this world alone, and we die alone with people who come into our lives and join our journey. We build community. 4) The world, the Universe, is inherently meaninglessness, and we all have to create our own meaning, or accept there is none.
