Question:

How do I write an introduction paragraph?

Inactive
Amberlee H.
Answer:

When writing an introduction paragraph, you wanted to make sure there are 3 key elements. The first one is a hook. This is designed to catch the reader's interest. An example of this might be starting out with a key fact or theoretical question. The second component is context. This means making sure that the hook, and your thesis are relevant to what you are writing, and why this may matter to the reader. Finally, you need a thesis statement, which clearly states what you are going to talk about, and how you are going to discuss it.

Answer:

Per the Bureau of Transportation Statistics in 2019, Chicago O’Hare is ranked number 2 for the number of “enplaned passengers”, while Chicago’s Midway Airport is ranked 28 (https://www.bts.gov/airport-rankings-2019). Bureau of Transportation Statistics also provides each year all the way back to 2009 to allow one to see how the ranking has changed it year. For example, in 2009 Chicago O’Hare was ranked still at number to and Chicago’s Midway Airport was actually ranked at number 29 for the amount of “enplaned passengers” (https://www.bts.gov/content/airport-rankings-2009).
