When to use the indicative tense and when to use the subjunctive tense?
In Spanish, the indicative is used during situations of certainty and when expressing facts (voy a comer, tengo tres hijos). The subjunctive tense is used during situations of uncertainty, emotions, beliefs, needs, doubts (es posible que Victor trabaje ahora, espero que vengas a mi fiesta)

What is epigenetics and how does it influence the stability of genes from one generation to the next?
Epigenetics involves changing a gene's function or regulation without altering its DNA sequences. Common methods of epigenetics include DNA methylation and histone acetylation. Epigenetics explains how cells with the same genotype can have different phenotypes driven by gene regulation. For example, a stem cell will differentiate into a specialized cell by turning ON or OFF different genes. Once this cell has specialized (ex: blood cell), it will proliferate to form new cells of this type. The activation or repression of specific genes is stable through subsequent cell division because of epigenetic methods that maintain the same gene expression levels. Key point: due to epigenetics, the DNA does not change but the genes' expression levels do and this change is maintained throughout generations.
