Question:

Explain the rock cycle.

Alexis D.
Answer:

During a rocks life, it may experience transformations. There are three types of rocks, igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary all of which form in different environments. Igneous rocks come from magma inside the Earth or lava erupted on the surface. Metamorphic rocks are preexisting rocks that undergo an amount of heat and pressure to change them physically and chemically. While sedimentary rocks are bits and pieces of other rocks that are "glued" together through compaction and cementation.

Question:

What causes seasons?

Alexis D.
Answer:

The Earth is tilted on an axis at about 23 degrees and orbits the sun in an elliptical pattern. When the Earth is on the far left during its orbit, it is tilted toward the sun which allows summer. On the opposite side of the orbit, the Earth has tilted away from the sun and we experience winter.
