## Questions

### Subject: Geometry

You are given the size of the hypotenuse and one other side of a right triangle. What is the length of the third side? Hypotenuse = 4 inches, Known side = 3 inches, Unknown side = ?

This is a Pythagorean Theorem problem. a^2= b^2 + c^2 (a = hypotenuse length). 4^2 = 3^2 + x^2 16 = 9 + x^2 x = sqr(25) = 5 inches !!!!

### Subject: Pre-Algebra

1) What is the square root of 9? 2) What is 1/5 + 3/6 =?

1) 3 2) 1/5 + 3/6 = 6/30 + 15/30 = 21/30 = 7/10

### Subject: Basic Math

John has 84 Lego pieces. He fills 5 boxes with exactly the same amount of Legos in each. How many cards did he put in each box and how many did he have left over?

This sounds like a division problem. We want to do is divide the total amount of Lego pieces by the number of boxes. 64 divided by 5 is 12 with 4 remaining. This means he must have put 12 Lego pieces in each box and was left with 4 remaining pieces.
