Question:

What are Soliloquies? Why was Shakespeare known for it?

Inactive
Maria W.
Answer:

Soliloquies were invented much before Shakespeare using them in his plays. A soliloquy is a form of conversation that one makes within himself. It is used in plays for the characters to voice out their thoughts to the audience. Although Shakespeare had not invented soliloquy, the concept was popularized through his plays. Hamlet was known for its soliloquies, this was when the audience was made aware of the inner turmoil within Hamlet when he questioned himself so often. Macbeth through its soliloquies did give the audience an understanding that he was actually afraid of death, hence did what he very well knew was wrong. Brutus too, through his soliloquies, showed himself to be an honest and upright man, doing what he felt was the right thing in a convoluted situation.

Question:

What is R.E.M sleep? How does it affect dreams?

Answer:

R.E.M or Rapid Eye movement is the deepest portion of sleep. Sleep has various stages NREM and REM. NREM or non-rapid eye movement are stages of sleep that can be split into falling asleep, light sleep, and falling into a slightly deep sleep. Whereas REM is the stage of deep sleep when our eyes move rapidly back and forth. This is when we have dreams, our muscles are paralyzed but our brains are actively processing new information.. Our sleep has a cycle of both NREM and REM. REM makes about 25% of our sleep cycle. REM sleep is crucial, without it our immune system would be weakened and the development of new tissues and cells in the body would be blocked. Hence both REM and dreams are interrelated and important for our body to function normally.

Question:

How can I write an effective article or blog in English?

Inactive
Maria W.
Answer:

Writing a blog in English must be as simple as understandable to your readers. It is not about showcasing your talent and the level of English you know. It is about your reader and how would they benefit from your blog. Write content that your reader wishes to know more about. Write in your unique style and not plagiarizing is the first rule to writing an impressive blog post/article. My advice is to write in a straightforward manner, directly dealing with the topic and personalizing what you write. Show your creativity through your imaginations penned down in words.
