Question:

Discuss the checks and balances that are implemented by the Federal government of the United States.

Leslea C.
Answer:

There are three branches of government in the United States federal system: the executive, legislative, and the judicial. Each branch has unique powers that allow them to ensure that one branch does not become too powerful. The executive has the power to veto (override) legislation passed by Congress, but the veto can be overruled by a 2/3 vote of Congress. In addition, the Supreme Court can declare legislation unconstitutional if it doesn't follow the constitution. There are many different ways that each branch can utilize its own powers to reduce the influence of other branches. This ensures that the United States doesn't have a dictatorship, an oligarchy, or unjust laws.

Question:

Explain the laws of supply and demand.

Leslea C.
Answer:

The amount of supply and the level of demand determine the quantity of product and the price at which they are sold. If demand is low, the supply will be high at a low price. If demand is high, the supply will be low at a higher price. In other words, there is a negative relationship between the price and the quantity of demand. However, there is a positive relationship between price and the amount supplied.
