After reading the Little Red Hen & the Little Red Elf, compare and contrast the two main characters. how are the Little Red Hen and the Little Red Elf similar in nature? How are they different?
The Little Red Hen and the Little Red Elf have many similarities and differences. They are similar because the main characters in both of the stories want to create something and ask their friends for help, but none of their friends are willing to do the hard work. This shows that both of the characters are hard working, but do not have hard working or helpful friends. The two characters are different because of the setting. The Little Red Hen is situated on a farm with farm animals, while the Little Red Elf takes place during the Christmas season, in the snowy winter.

I am a chef working at a 5-star restaurant. I place 1 slice of onion on top of the bottom burger bun. I add 1 burger patty on top of the onion, and 1 slice of cheese. I add 2 leaves of lettuce on top of the onion. I add 2 slices of tomatoes on the lettuce leaves, and then put on the top bun. How many items make up the burger altogether?
1 + 1 + 1 + 1 (onion, bun, patty, cheese) = 4 2 + 2 + 1 (lettuce, tomatoes, bun) = 5 4 + 5 = 9 items Key- don't forget about the buns!

What is the difference between a metaphor and a simile?
They both compare two things, but a simile only uses the words "like or as," while a metaphor uses a variety of words, including "is" and "was." Examples - The girl was as white as a ghost (simile). The girl was a ghost (metaphor).
