Question:

In a well-written persuasive essay, which five elements should be present?

Halle C.
Answer:

In order to present an educated argument, one is strongly encouraged to use the elements of FERPA throughout his or her paper. The letter F represents factual evidence (statistics, supporting documents, etc.) for the purpose of adding validity to the argument. The letter E represents examples as to how your position has been successful in the past through real life situations or otherwise. The letter R represents one or more references to an authority figure or expert relating to your topic of argument (ex. scientific research, psychologists, doctors, etc.). The letter P represents the prediction of an outcome if you were to win the argument (ex. the way in which the situation would be improved). The letter A represents answering the opposition. This means acknowledging the opposing argument and the ways in which it could work, but then explaining why your argument is better.

Question:

Describe the process of transpiration in a plant:

Halle C.
Answer:

Transpiration in a plant begins when runoff water travels from the soil to the xylem located in the plant's stem. From there, the water is pulled up the xylem due to its cohesive water properties (the bonding of adjacent water molecules), and travels to the leaves of the plant. Finally, the water exits the leaves through their stomata (porous sections of the leaves) due to its adhesive properties (the bonding of water molecules to other molecules).
