Questions

Subject: Writing

TutorMe
Question:

Why is it important to learn to write effectively?

Anne M.
Answer:

Writing is the foundation of communicating accurately with others in every aspect of life. If one learns to compose sentences according to the established principles of the English (or any language), one can communicate what one needs and can build relationships with others. Writing is as important in the digital world as it was when civilizations recorded information on previous technologies such as stone tablets and paper. We write all day every day on our phones and other devices and we must be able to communicate in accepted ways that will enable others to understand us. Hence, all students should master the complexities of both oral and written language.

Question:

Why should students spend time to develop effective study skills?

Anne M.
Answer:

We are not born with the ability to learn effectively. Study skills need to be developed over time by mastering key principles of reading, comprehension, note-taking, collaborating, reviewing, studying, and test-taking. Students who learn how to read and study perform better in school and in life.
