Question:

solve for X 6X + 7 = 12 + X

Tenia M.
Answer:

first, we should sort the numbers and the numbers with variables from one another. so we will keep the 6x on left side moving the X on the right side to the left. As we move variables from a side to another the sign changes, so it becomes -X (6X-X) on the left side. On the other hand, we will take the 7 from the left side and move it to the right side to complete the sorting. Don't forget the signs should change. Thus, it will be 12-7 on the right side. Finally, we will have likes on each side of the = sign. Now we can make our numbers smaller 6X-1X=5x and 12-7=5. to simplify this if 5X=5 that means 1Xwill be equal to 1, so X=1
