Answer:

The first step in answering this problem would be to follow the order or PEMDAS, in which multiplication comes first. Because 4 x 2 is 8, the problem would now look like this: 8 - 3=? From here, you can do simple subtraction to get the answer of 5.

Question:

What is the difference between an incipient and carious lesion?

Answer:

An incipient lesion, which can be seen on an x-ray, is one that goes into the first layer of a tooth, or the enamel. At this stage, no fillings or restorative work is necessary. With improved home care and excess fluoride exposure, these fillings can stay stagnant and/or repair themselves. A carious lesion is one that extends into the second or third layer of the tooth, in which a filling or more extensive restorative work is needed to repair it.

Answer:

First, subtract 8 from 16. Then, you get 4x=8. From here, you will divide 4 into 8, in order to get x by itself. x=2.
