Question:

Can you tell me about the prisoner's dilemma and how it applies to political science?

Chanique V.
Answer:

By definition "The prisoner's dilemma is a paradox in decision analysis in which two individuals acting in their own self-interest pursue a course of action that does not result in the ideal outcome." (Investopedia). It applies to Political Science in that it helps us to understand why it is difficult for groups with overlapping and related political interests to join ranks and be allies. It helps us to understand why cooperation is not always possible.
