I am currently a Professor of Nursing Instructor at Ohio University. I have many years of nursing experience from infant to adults and I am passionate about helping students grow into confidant nurses.

I have been working in the education world for over 5 years. I started out as a nurse educator in a local hospitals and then I entered into academia and I am in my second year as a full time nursing instructor with the faculty in the nursing department at Ohio University Southern.

I teach Associate degree and Bachelor degree level students topics including pediatrics, maternal newborn, and women's health among others. I advise students and meet with them to develop test taking strategies and study strategies. I lead clinical and lab groups for the required in person experience as required in the courses.
Deerpath Surgical Center, PACU RN
2017 - 2020
I took care of pre-op and post-op patients who had undergone surgical procedure ranging from knee scopes, cataracts, colonoscopies, and tonsillectomies, among others. I started IVs and administered medications. I interviewed patients to determine fit for surgery and follow up with patients after the procedure was completed. I gave post op care and instruction while recovering from anesthesia.

I taught a variety of courses to expectant parents and siblings, including newborn care, sibling classes, labor and delivery, as well as breastfeeding.

I took care of neonatal patients who were sick or premature. The patients I cared for ranged from intensive care needs on ventilators and intubated to continuing care nursery patients who were learning how to eat before going home. I placed IVs and provided medications as well as IV line and central line maintenance. I educated parents on status and changes as well as teaching discharge instructions.
