Violence in the media promote violence in society. To what extent do you agree?
There are many ways that people can connect violence in the media with violence in today's society. I believe that although the media can have an influence over people's actions in very specific situations, I do not believe the connection is applicable to violence in society as a whole. I believe that the violence stems from people's background, personal life, and personal experiences that they endure on a daily basis. The violence in society has reached an all time high, but that is not saying that violence wasn't present many years ago, back before social media was even in existence. Violence was not always connected to social media, and even though, violent acts, such as mass shootings, were not as commonly known, that is not to say that violence didn't exist before social media did. We want to blame the media for our society's acts of anger, but are forgetting about all the acts of anger and discrimination we have showed as a country before media was present as a supposed influence.
