Hello! My name is Anna Floyd, and I graduated in December 2017 from UT Austin with dual degrees in Plan II Honors and European Studies. I plan to attend graduate school for a Master's of Public Affairs in order to pursue a career in environmental policy. My favorite things to study are culture, language, and history, and I am fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese. I have a strong background in history, both American and 20th-century European. I would love to help people learn, as well as facilitate in them a passion for learning!
I have taught English to Guatemalan children every summer since 2007, and I peer-edited academic writing throughout my time at the University of Texas. Teaching is also my current job, as I am a ski instructor for Vail Resorts; I am quite familiar with the mechanics of teaching and how people learn.
Vail Resorts, Ski Instructor
2017 - Present
I teach children ages 7-14 how to ski, as well as adults in a foreign language setting (Spanish and Portuguese.) I ensure that people learn in an effective and safe environment.
United States Forest Service, Trails Crew Intern

I spent a summer interning for the US Forest Service on a trails crew, performing hands-on conservation work in and around Rocky Mountain National Park.
