About Courtney

About Courtney
I am in the final stages of my doctoral dissertation, and have been teaching courses on information behaviors and literacy since 2017. Prior to then, I taught 'one-shot' information literacy sessions for ENG 101 students after having taught composition and literature courses for 10 years. I have a wonderful family, obnoxious pets, and a passion for helping folks find and assess high quality information.

Teaching Experience

Teaching Experience
I currently teach courses that are core to the Bachelor of Science in Information Science program at the University of Maryland's iSchool. I conduct regular office hours to provide my students with one-to-one lessons as needed. Before teaching with the iSchool, I developed courses around information literacy, and taught basic research through the campus library. I have taught English Composition and Literature at both two and four-year schools, and throughout my teaching career have worked with and embrace my diverse student body.
