Question:

How do I determine triad quality?

Amy Evelyn C.
Answer:

Triads have three notes, and are two thirds stacked on top of each other. The quality of each third (and also the fifth) determine the chord quality, which can be major, minor, augmented, or diminished. For example, a major triad has a major third on the bottom, and a minor third on the top. The outside interval is a perfect fifth. I can help you understand triads completely!

How do you name intervals?

Amy Evelyn C.
Answer:

Music intervals are counted like THINGS, not distance. Put your pencil on the lower note and count up line, space, line, space until you reach the top note. This is the interval. Intervals can be major, minor, augmented, diminished, or perfect. I can help you understand all of the qualifiers for intervals!
