What makes for an interesting writing piece?
The best ones are those which are well-researched, thorough, and most importantly, reflect the passion of the writer. If the writer has the knowledge and voice to write, it can make for an exceptional paper, but the passion for the topic is what will always elevate it. Writing has many rules and laws to allow for structure, but the beauty in it is when a writer can create their own masterpiece within those lines.
Subject: Study Skills
What is a simple, effective first step to developing study habits for someone who struggles with it?
I believe, like everything in life, you can find what's best for you based on trial-and-error. There are many study techniques based on what kind of learner you are, such as hands-on, visual, auditory, etc. The most important part is setting yourself up for it. This can be practiced through things such as developing a good study environment, obtaining study materials, creating a study music playlist, or even just writing everything down. Everyone has a different style, which is why there's never one perfect answer!
What is something about the English language that differentiates it from other languages?
Something fascinating about English is that it's non-tonal. Essentially, this means that your pronunciation of a given word, whether it be with a higher pitch or a lower pitch, will not affect the meaning of the word. The idea of tonality is especially crucial in other languages, such as Chinese, where a word can mean different things based on pronunciation.
