You are baking a cake but need to make double the amount. As you are getting started, you are trying to find easier ways to double the ingredients without having to measure out the ingredients twice. For example, you need to use 3/4 cup of shortening for one recipe. How could you double the recipe without having to measure each ingredient twice?
If I was baking a cake and didn't want to measure everything twice, I would double each ingredient. If the recipe called for 3/4 cup of shortening, I would do 3/4 + 3/4 = 1.5. That way I could measure out 1 1/2 cups of shortening instead of measuring 3/4 out twice.

You have a Kindergarten student that is struggling with their letter sounds. The parents have asked for games and resources to use at home to work with their child. What kinds of unique sound games or resources could you provide or recommend for that family?
I would provide the family with an alphabet Bingo, a Slides and Ladders with single vowels, single consonant sounds, and mixed vowel and consonant, flash cards, an alphabet poster, and sound/letter matching games. I would also encourage the parents to read picture books to their child for 20 minutes a day, allowing the child to see the words as they're being read. Turning on the closed-captioning on the TV is an easy way to get kiddos seeing words without any extra work.
