Question:

At what time should you use commas?

Samantha F.
Answer:

Commas should be used to separate a series; for example, "The dogs loved to run, pant, and eat lots of food!" Commas should also be used before a conjunction (and, or, but, etc) in order to separate two independent clauses. For example, "I love to run, but I love to hike even more!" Commas are used to separate an introduction from the base of a sentence. Here is an example: "As he was throwing the garbage away, he remembered that he needed that piece of paper!" Commas can make extra information in a sentence make perfect sense! "My house, which is across from Sarah's, looks better than all the houses in the neighborhood! There are many more reasons to use commas, however these are just a few answers. :)

Question:

What are a few tips to successfully mastering reading before heading into the ACT?

Samantha F.
Answer:

One of the main tips that helped me greatly was to read through the questions and then head into the paragraph portion. With that, it is much easier remembering the question and finding the answer.
