A Relational Database stores data in a tabular form (i.e. rows and columns) with no reference to any physical storage location. Relational Databased include the implementation of a query language Structured Query Language (SQL) to access the data. Examples of an RDBMS are SQL Server, Oracle Database, and MySQL. A NoSQL database, stores data in structures other than tables. This makes the querying of the data more complicated without a query language, but the data is better organized for speed. An example of a NoSQL database is MongoDB
