How did WWI lead to WWII?
One of the treaties ending WWI was the Treaty of Versailles which put extreme restrictions on Germany causing them to have to develop new strategies of warfare using the weapons of WWI. The League of Nations was developed as a post-war entity responsible for monitoring Germany. When Japan invaded Manchuria and Italy invaded Ethiopia the League had no recourse to stop them. When Germany invaded Poland again the League had no consequences to stop them. Finally, the allied nations declared war on Germany causing the beginning of WWII.

How did the Progressive Era "fix" the Gilded Age?
The Gilded Age had political corruption, poverty, and child labor. During the Progressive Era muckraker reporting exposed these problems among others and reforms began to occur in all aspects of society. President Theodore Roosevelt passed election reforms that eliminated political machines. The Hull House was created by Jane Addams to help people in poverty by providing housing and basic services. Child labor laws and compulsory education laws stopped the long working hours of children. Though not all political, social, and labor corruption was resolved the Progressive Era began the reforms that would shape our society.

How did the 30 years' war affect Europe socially?
Life changed dramatically. The 30 years' war caused destruction throughout Europe. Crops were destroyed and droughts occurred causing the population to diminish from battle and the inability to grow food. Wealthy families that helped finance the campaigns during the war were financially devastated. The peasants revolted when there was no food available. The war-affected every social class in Europe.
