The area of a circle is 64π. Which of the following is the circumference of the circle?
The equation for the area of a circle is πr^2. We can set the equation to be: πr^2 = 64π Dividing and canceling out π on both sides leads to: r^2 = 64 Taking the square root of both sides leads to: r = 8 The equation for the circumference of a circle is 2πr. We can set the equation of the circumference to be: 2πr = 2π(8) = 16π Thus, the circumference of the circle is 16π

What is the general relationship between temperature and the entropy for diatomic gases?
When substances have a higher temperature, the molecules of that substance have a higher range of speeds. These molecules have higher speeds because increased temperature leads to increased energy levels of these molecules. With a higher range of speeds, the disorder of the substance also increased. Thus, the higher the temperature, the higher the entropy for diatomic gases.

1. All of the following are activated by the sympathetic nervous system EXCEPT for A. dilation of the pupil of the eye B. constriction of blood vessels C. increased secretion of the sweat glands D. increased peristalsis in the gastrointestinal tract
D, the sympathetic nervous system is the "fight or flight" system while the parasympathetic nervous system is the "rest or digest" system. The sympathetic nervous system is stimulated in times of stress, during emergency situations. During stress, the pupil is dilated, blood vessels are constricted, sweat is secreted, digestion slows down, and heart rate increases. Thus, there is decreased peristalsis in the GI tract during stress.
