Teaching Experience

Teaching Experience
During 9th grade, I tutored my fellow students in geometry because my teacher appointed me as the class tutor after seeing my success throughout the course. Throughout high school, I tutored my younger cousins in various subjects for elementary school. I also tutored my friends in English Literature and how to successfully write an academic paper. Throughout my undergraduate career, I was a facilitator for 2 discussion seminars for a biology course for 2 years. These discussion classes were 1.5 hours long each and each seminar was once a week.

I conducted donations processing, created invoices for each build, communicated with donors and volunteers, created a volunteer appreciation campaign, and volunteered in a house-build event in Tijuana, Mexico.
Department of Humanities, Peer Mentor
2016 - 2017
I was a mentor for seven incoming freshman and helped them with learning how to successfully get through college. I helped them make new friends, learn how to manage their time wisely, and learn how to navigate the life of a full-time college student.
Department of Public Health, Discussion Facilitator
2015 - 2017
I conducted two discussion sections each quarter that were 1.5 hours long each. It was for the discussion class of a biology course related directly to HIV/AIDS. During the discussion sections I taught the students about the stigma surrounding HIV and how to avoid stereotyping. I also maintained an open and nonjudgmental environment because we talked about a lot of personal and emotional things.
Regents Point, Front Desk Receptionist
2016 - 2016
I answered and quickly redirected up to 20 calls per shift, directed guests and routed deliveries, managed incoming and outgoing calls while recording accurate messages, assisted residents with their questions and concerns, and maintained a clean reception area. I worked overnight with no other coworkers present and competently learned how to supervise myself.
GR Trucking, Executive Assistant
2013 - 2016
Organized important documents, created invoices for each load to send to payroll and brokers, addressed phone calls and emails from all brokers and clients, formulated specific spreadsheets documenting the mileage of each truck, oversaw all inventory and purchases, and established long-term customer relationships through prompt and courteous service.
