Question:

What does the word "bible" mean?

Bekalyn C.
Answer:

Although this word often refers to the The Holy Bible (Old and New Testaments), the word means "little books". The King James version (KJV) of the Holy Bible contains 1124 pages, but it is actually a collection of 66 small books, with Jeremiah being the longest book and Obadiah the shortest.

Subject: English

Question:

What language does English come from and why is it known as the "killer language" (Pakir, 1991)?

Bekalyn C.
Answer:

English is a Germanic language (Purwitasari, 2018) that had some Latin terms and rules imposed on it during the 1700's. English has become the global language (Gutierrez Estrada & Schecter, 2018) through colonization and technological advancement. As English spreads across the world, native languages are being replaced (killed off) (Benson, 2009; Cummins, 2009; and Skutnabb-Kangas, 2009).
