Edit the following sentence: my grandma says "i dont like staying inside during the summer months. I prefer gardening". I try to explain that I too love to garden but it isnt always feasible in the heat.
The important component when editing grammar is to look at capitalization. Capitalization rules include capitalizing the first letter of the beginning of every sentence and the first letter after a quotation mark. When quoting, there should be a comma before the start of the quotation and the punctuation at the end of the sentence remains inside of the quotation mark. Do not forget to add apostrophes as necessary! Additionally, if there are compound sentences that are conjoined with and or but, there is a need for a comma before either of those words. Here is the edited sentence: My grandma says, "I don't like staying inside during the summer months. I prefer gardening." I try to explain that I, too, love to garden, bit it isn't always feasible in the heat.

Jeanie is going on a trip with her family for 4 days. The family is calculating the cost of renting a car. To rent a car, it is $50 per day and $0.50 per mile driven. If the total cost and the end of the trip was $440, how many miles did they drive the car during the entire trip?
The first step is to create an algebraic equation for the question. There are two costs involved in creating the total cost, the rental car per day and the cost per miles driven. Therefore the equation can be created as follows, 50(x)+ 0.50(y)= total cost of trip where x is the number of days the car was rented and y represents the total number of miles driven. Given the information provided in the question, we can fill in the information as follows 50(4)+0.50y=440. This can be simplified as 200+0.50y=440 and further simplified as 0.50y=220. Therefore, y=440miles.
