Question:

What is UX design?

Megan C.
Answer:

UX design to me is understanding people and solving their problems. At the heart of UX design is empathy! It's important in order to create an experience that seamlessly meets user needs, and necessary for companies to create relevant and enjoyable experiences for their customers. There are a lot of different ways to approach the UX design process (I was taught the double diamond process!), but something that I was told that has stuck with me is that UX design is both designing the right thing and designing the thing right.

Question:

What is the probability that a number selected at random from the set {2, 3, 7, 12, 15, 22, 72, 108} will be divisible by both 2 and 3 ?

Megan C.
Answer:

Answer: $$\frac{3}{8}$$ Only the numbers 12, 72, and 108 are divisible by both 2 and 3. Since there are eight numbers in total in the set, the probability is $$\frac{3}{8}$$. This is a pretty simple problem, but a trick that I learned in elementary school to quickly figure out if a number is divisible by 3 is to add the digits of the number together, and if this sum is divisible by 3, then the original number is also divisible by 3. For example: Take the number 108. If you add the digits of 108 ($$1 + 0 + 8$$) you get 9. Since 9 is divisible by 3, so is 108. This trick saved me a lot of time when I took the ACT!
