Question:

Solve the following system of equations by using the substitution method. 2x + y = 9 3x - y = 16

Jacob M.
Answer:

Alright so the first thing that needs to be done is you need to solve both equations for x or y and set them equal to each other. I started by solving both equations for Y, which will in turn give us our X value. Y = 9 - 2X , and Y = -16 + 3x. Substitute the equations to get them to equal each other like so. -16 + 3X = 9 - 2X. Move all X variable terms to one side and non-variable terms to the other to get. 25 = 5X. Therefore we solve for X which is X = 5. Now we Solve for X which give us Y. Solve for X in both equations which will yield X = (9 - y)/2, and (16+y)/3. Now in this case we have fractions so we need to cross multiply like so (16 +y)*2 = 3*(9-y). Next distribute the number outside the parenthesizes through. which gives 32+ 2y = 27 - 3y. Simplify terms to get Y = -1. Next you need to go back and check by plugging in both X and Y values into each other the equation. 2(5) + (-1)=9 Which is true, and 3(5) - (-1) = 16 which is also true.

Question:

How does one get over stage freight or how does one prepare for a speech?

Jacob M.
Answer:

With through practice and repetition. Its useful to write your speech on a piece of paper and speak to yourself in the mirror while you are practicing so that you get use to seeing yourself. One important thing to remember is that these people are interested in what you have to say and try and view stage fright as excitement like your about to go on a roller coaster.

Question:

How do you convert 200 degrees into radians?

Jacob M.
Answer:

The best way to do this is to first off know your conversions its important to know that their is 360 degree's in a circle or 2 p radians. If you are going from degree's to radians you would take 200 degrees *(2*pi/360 degree's) It equals about 3.49 radians. Its important to know that in order to do the correct conversion to happen the units have to cancel otherwise the conversion will not work.
