What's the worst thing that could happen if you had poor study skills?
The first thing that helps contribute to poor study skills is a lack of organization- I would know, I've been there! So the worst thing that could happen? Waking up the day of a test that was not studied for over enough time (or with the right tactics) only to find out that what little studying was done was wrong! (maybe the planner should have specified...). This leads to a bad grade and then... Study Skills are important. As a person who struggled with organization and study skills, it makes everything better when they are top notch. Less stress, less time spent "working", and better grades.
What is the most difficult part of learning english as a second language?
The most difficult part of learning English as a second language is speaking the language confidently. I have seen students who know more vocabulary and grammar than I thought possible who could barely string together a sentence. This all comes down to confidence and practice. If a person thinks they cannot speak the language, but can listen and understand, they only need help realizing they can do it.
When writing an essay, what is the standard structure used?
When writing an essay, they are usually five paragraphs long (for younger students). This is separated into the introduction, the body, and the conclusion. The first paragraph introduces the topic and what will be covered in the essay as well as any general information needed to understand the topic. The following three paragraphs are the body of the essay. Each one of the paragraphs should introduce a new point that relates to the topic of the essay. Finally, there is the conclusion. This paragraph is used to sum-up the contents of the essay and leave the reader with the final point (or conclusion) of the paper.
