A local pond that is downstream from a large monocropping farm experience an issue with eutrophication after a very rainy summer. Explain how this could happen.
This local pond is most likely experiencing this issue with eutrophication due to excess nitrogen availability in the pond water. This causes an algal bloom, which results in eutrophication. The monocropping farm was most likely using fertilizer heavy in nitrates during the growing season, and due to the excess rainfall in the summer, those nitrates were washed downstream into the pond allowing the algal bloom to occur.

What are three ways in which Alfred Wegener defended his theory of continental drift?
Alfred Wegener defended his theory of continental drift in many different ways. One way was in the way that the continents fit together. He also studied sedimentary strata layers which gave him insight into paleoclimate indicators. He found remnants of these exact same indicators in different continents. Wegener also used fossils as a way to defend his theory. Fossils of the same organisms were found on both South American and the African continent that helped Wegener continue to defend his theory.
