The first step towards improving or maintaining your GPA is to target what study style you benefit most from. You can time yourself to study 13 hours a day and glue yourself to a desk, but there is no efficiency or effectiveness in that. Discovering your study style, such as auditory, visual, group, etc., helps you progress which brings motivation while dodging burnouts. Next, create a realistic schedule for what time you want to sleep, study, relax, spend time with friends, etc. Make sure to include ample time for rest and be realistic with how much time you want to spend with friends. You want this schedule to be sustainable so you can carry on with it for the semester. Stick to this schedule for a couple of weeks, making adjustments as needed. This will help strengthen your mind and get you in a routine. Once you've got the rhythm and you have an effective study style, the rest is a well oiled machine.

When elaborating on an idea, the following format can be used: "my teacher, Mrs. Smith, loves to wear purple". The "Mrs. Smith" is additional information that if taken out, would convey the main idea. The question also asks to choose the sentence that expressed the idea the best. Therefore, we can eliminate b since the birthday party was missed BECAUSE the tire was flat. Not the other way around. The tire did not become flat due to the missed birthday party.
