Questions
Subject: Nursing
A patient is admitted to a medical/surgical unit with a diagnosis of a pheochromocytoma. Which action should not be performed by the nurse and why? (Think IPPA)
Palpation should be avoided because palpating the tumor could cause a hyper release of hormones that could cause a hypertensive crisis.
Subject: Biology
What is the role of the lysosome in the cell?
Lysosomes function like the cell's waste management system. They are membrane-bound organelles that absorb cell waste, foreign bodies like viruses and bacteria, and assist the cell in apoptosis, which is cell death. They deposit cell waste on the outside of the cell membrane (a phospholipid bilayer) by merging their own membrane with the cell membrane and depositing waste on the outside.
