Question:

I'm stuck on how to start my 5 paragraph essay. What is a good way to begin?

Inactive
Maya K.
Answer:

I recommend starting essays of this nature with a "hook", or an exciting and compelling beginning sentence that will serve to draw the reader in. This will look different depending on the topic of your essay. In general the first sentence should be exciting enough to get the reader's attention, and also reveal some of the subject matter of your essay.

Answer:

95. Since all angles in a triangle add up to 180, 180-(20+65)= 95.

Question:

Explain how the a three nucleotide group segment of DNA (i.e AAG) will contribute to the formation of a protein.

Answer:

All proteins can be traced back to the gene (or DNA segment) that codes for them. In this case, the three nucleotide group segment of DNA, AAG, will be transcribed into mRNA (messenger RNA), which is the language of protein building. The DNA nucleotides AAG will becomes UUC through the process of transcription, which involved various proteins. Following this process, the mRNA segment (now called a codon) will be used in a process called translation, which turns mRNA segments into a amino acids that will become a growing polypeptide chain. In this case, the mRNA codon UUC codes for the amino acid phenylalanine. As the process repeats and more DNA segments that are similar to our AAG become part of the growing polypeptide chain, the chain will fold in specific areas. This folding occurs due to various chemical bonds between the amino acids. At the end of the gene that our AAG was a member of, there will be another DNA segment that will deliver a "STOP" command, and thus the polypeptide chain will detach and the folded chain will now be a protein.
