Why is my writing difficult to read?
There can be many reasons why a person's writing doesn't flow like intended. Switching verb tenses in the middle of a piece is an easy way to confuse a reader (like going from "said" to "says" with no warning). Spelling, run-on sentences, and grammar errors are also common culprits.
How can I understand other people's lived experiences as they apply to sociology when I only have my own life as reference?
The goal of sociology is to study and give name to different lived experiences to better understand them. Even though your life may be very different from someone else's, what you learn in sociology will give you the knowledge and vocabulary to explain exactly how your life and the lives' of others can be different.
What can I do to make my design more effective?
Consider your audience. What is the age range of your audience? What is their gender? Consider the response you want your design to elicit. Is your design meant to be thought provoking? Is it meant to make a customer want to buy a product? To make a design more effective you need to step outside yourself and consider how a consumer would interpret your design.
