How far ahead of an essay's due date should a draft be completed?
Depending on the time frame for this assignment, anywhere between 3 to 5 days is ideal. It is important to spend at least one whole day's worth away from the draft after its completion to allow a refreshed and relaxed mind to edit without exhaustion. Furthermore, this can allow other editors the chance to take their time to revise the writing on their own without being concerned for the author's due date.
Is it better to study for three hour blocks or to take periodic breaks in between?
According to a 2008 University of Illinois study, the ideal study block is 10 minutes of rest for every 50 minutes of work or study. Regardless of the method (like physical books or digital screens), the brain becomes accustomed to stimuli and these breaks are necessary to keep oneself awake, cognitive, and responsive to the task at hand.
O spirit of love, how quick and fresh art thou, That, notwithstanding thy capacity Receiveth as the sea, nought enters there, Of what validity and pitch soe'er, But falls into abatement and low price Even in a minute. So full of shapes is fancy That it alone is high fantastical. In the above passage by Orsino of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," how is love described?
Orsino describes love as a violent and ever-changing sea by characterizing the emotion through several descriptions. A "quick and fresh" love is one that is difficult to capture, as its form is quick to change. This unstable form is imagined as the violent sea, something so "high fantastical" it causes him to want everything love can offer yet, "even in a minute" he grows sick of it. Orsino himself is characterized as melancholic, recently coming away from Olivia's rejection, and his lamentations reveal that though his heart aches, he is still drunk with infatuation for the lady.
