Question:

Sometimes, entrepreneurs have great ideas for a product/service/business, but they find that they are creating very good solutions for the wrong problem, or for a problem that does not exist in the marketplace. Can you find a real-life example of a successful business that has matched a new solution to a real, existing problem?

Daniel K.
Answer:

While there are so many products that have come out as solutions to make our lives easier and/or safer, the one that resonates right now is how technology companies are finding ways to make our lives more efficient. For example, by creating the "wallet" feature on iphones, Apple has eliminated the need to carry a bulky wallet filled with cash and credit cards. With Apple Pay, customers can now check out at grocery and retail stores with so much more ease and security than they could before. The problem was that customers were carrying around too much in their wallets and feeling insecure with new invasive hackers roaming the internet, and now those worries can be eliminated by the safe, fast, secure Apple Wallet and Apple Pay.

Question:

How would you differentiate your current lesson to accommodate the needs of all students in your classroom and their learning styles?

Daniel K.
Answer:

Currently, I am teaching children how to learn to swim. Specifically, how to master the "streamlined kick". I will speak clearly and repeat my instructions for children who are audible learners. I will have a whiteboard on the side of the pool with the instructions written down and I will demonstrate the skills in the pool for my visual learners, and for my kinesthetic learners, I will physically guide them through the process of the streamlined float first, and then the streamlined kick.
