On the day of TOEFL (speaking) will they ask me questions I won't be able to answer?
No. Their goal is not to make your life harder, but to assess your level of English. You will be able to answer all the questions, but you'll need to fill the whole time with talk! So let's get practicing. There are many useful expressions/set phrases that we can learn to use in a conversation to show the examiner that you can use complex sentences etc.
Is Italian hard to learn?
It depends! What's your first language? If it is Spanish, then it may seem very easy. However, if your first language is Korean or another non-romance language, it may seem a little bit more complicated because your first language and Italian won't have much in common. It's all about what you make of it. Italian has quite a complex grammar compared to English. Conversely, it's very easy to read. I can assess your strengths and weaknesses and help you have an overall easier experience with the learning of this wonderful language.
When learning a second language, what are some factors to take into consideration?
When we learn a second language (or third, fourth...) there are many things to consider. How motivated are we? Is it something we want, or something that is necessary for us to accomplish something (like getting a degree or a job)? Do we want to learn about the culture, or simply learn the language in preparation for a standardized test? Would we prefer to focus all of our attention on grammar and pronunciation, or should we think about reading/writing as well? Our motivation, as well as our ultimate goals, shape our experience with language learning. I am here to make sure we take into consideration your goals and achieve them in the time needed.
