DNP prepared RN with 4 years of teaching experience
I have worked in healthcare for 20 years, the last 10 as a RN. I started on a med-surg/tele floor as a new grad. I then transitioned to the ED through a new to specialty program and have been there ever since! I have also done home infusions of IVIG, teaching, and NCLEX question writing as a subject matter expert. I just defended my DNP project last month and am excited to finally be done with my educational journey (maybe).
I first started teaching clinical for a state university. I then accepted a position in a simulation lab, where I ran the simulations and created curriculum. Next I took on a full-time teaching position, where I taught med-surg and geriatrics, in addition to clinical and simulation. I am currently helping open a new university with a nursing program that is planned for 2023.
