The cardiovascular system consists of the most hardworking organ in the body - the heart, blood vessels and blood. Powered by the heart, the blood vessels transport approximately five liters of blood throughout the body per minute.
Whys is the sequence of amino acids in a protein important?
The amino acid sequence is key to proper protein function. If the primary sequence of the amino acids is changed, the interactions that allow the protein to fold properly into it's higher order (primary & secondary) structures will change and may render that protein useless.
