Question:

What is the case of Phineas Gage about?

Maddie G.
Answer:

It was an accident that occurred in 1948 to a 25 year old construction working. An iron rod passed through his left cheek, through the frontal lobe, and out of the top of his head. After the accident, he continued a normal life, however he had a recurring issue of not sticking to or carrying out things that he wanted to do. His personality changed slightly and there was added aggression but these weren't as prominent changes. This case showed researchers how important the frontal lobe is to our social nature. His skull is still being studied and is physically at Harvard University.
