### Subject: Pre-Algebra

Write the following fraction in lowest terms: 12/24

First, we should find the common multiple of both numbers, meaning a number that is divisible by both 12 and 24. 12 is divisible by itself as well as by 24. So to reduce the fraction, we divide the entire fraction by 12/12. 12/12 gives us 1, and 24/12 gives us. Therefore, the answer must be 1/2.

### Subject: Algebra

Solve the equation: -5x + 20 = 25

Solving the equation means figuring out the value of the x. In order to do that, we must have x on one side, and all other numbers on the opposite side to set x = to a value. First step would be to subtract 20 from both sides so we eliminate the 20 on the left, and subtract 20 from 25. Now we are left with -5x = 5. Next, in order to get x by itself, we must divide the x by -5, so we are left with just x. When you divide both sides by -5, you get x = -1.
