If an isosceles triangle has a perimeter of 65 cm, what's the length of the side that is different that the other two provided it is 5 cm greater than either of them?
To solve any geometry question it's best to draw figures and state facts before proceeding further. So let the length of the either of the same sides be X. then the third side can be denoted by X+5. since perimeter is 65, 2x(X) + (X+5) = 65 3X + 5 = 65 3X = 60 X = 20. Now remember that the question asked for the length of the third side. that's X+5 = 20 + 5 = 25 25 is the answer.
How do you define Marketing?
Marketing is a very broad term encompassing everything from product (market research, identifying needs, building a product to satisfy those needs) to how its going to be placed in the market (channels, promotions and advertisements, what it's price is going to be). It also deals with making sure the product and company stay relevant in the market and analyzing competitors strengths and weaknesses. Most people think marketing is just advertising but that's just the what the end consumer sees. Its a much bigger field than that.
Its all numbers and alphabets. How is this useful for me in real life? Can't I just pass this course with the bare minimum effort and call it a day?
Firstly, as a mechanical engineer, this subject has been incredibly important for me to be able to perform my duties but even more than that, it gives you a new outlook at most problems in life. Human beings get easily overwhelmed by lots of data. Algebra in its most basic form is a tool to help make that data easier to work with and understand. I would not be able to perform my job duties if it weren't for my strengths in this course. So, while you can just put in minimum effort, I would advise you to properly learn this course because its beneficial in many areas even after your studies.
