How to do a mail merge in Microsoft word?
First of all you have to prepare your excel sheet (data source). Here are the most important things to be done in the excel sheet: 1- The column names in the spreadsheet should match the names we want inserted in the mail merge. 2- All data that needs to be inserted in the mail merge, has to be present in the first sheet. 3- Data entries with percentages, currencies and zip codes should all be correctly formatted in the spreadsheet. 4- Any editing or corrections have to be made and saved before the mail merge starts. On to mail merge: 1- In Microsoft word start a blank document/ 2- On the mailings tab, click the start mail merge button then choose the kind of mail merge you are looking for. 3- Click on select recipients then choose "use an existing list". 4- Pick the spreadsheet you created earlier. You can then edit your recipient list if desired. Final step is to preview and finish the mail merge.
