The ages of senior citizens at a nursing home are 55, 61, 73, 85, 91, 66, 67, 89, 73, 90, 101, 67, 56, 55, 64, 69. What percent of the senior citizens are age 70 and over?
73, 85, 91, 89, 73, 90, 101 are over 70. So 7 senior citizens out of the total of 16. 7/16 = 0.4375 To calculate as a percent multiply by 100. 0.4375 * 100 = 43.75%
The age of each of Mr. Triangle’s three sons is an integer. The sum of the integers equals 12 and their product equals 30. How old is each of Mr. Triangle’s sons?
Ages are 1, 5 and 6 because 1+5+6 = 12 and 1*5*6 = 30
As the weather is getting colder, it’s becoming more and more appealing to cozy up with a nice hot bowl of alphabet soup. I don’t have any soup to offer you today, so we are going to have a healthy helping of alphabet slope!!! Math is all around us and it is important to remember this! For each of the following alphabet letters, classify the types of slopes present. There can be multiple slopes present in each letter. If slope cannot be calculated, state non-linear: A C L M T
A = positive, negative, zero C = nonlinear L = undefined, zero M = undefined, positive, negative, zero T = zero, undefined
