Angie is a global citizen currently based out of the Dominican Republic, where she runs environmental activism and youth government initiatives for students in an under-resourced sector of the capital. Outside of work, she facilitates a transnational conversation club for adults looking to improve their English and plays guitar in a punk fusion band as an avid student of Latin American rock.

I am entering my seventh year of teaching experience, beginning as a volunteer public speaking coach with my high school team after I graduated (proud to say I've coached the past four Colorado state champions in Original Oratory!) and continuing as a debate coach in underserved New York City public schools through Columbia Youth for Debate for six semesters from 2012-2015. I facilitate a weekly two-hour conversation night in English in the Dominican Republic to give language learners an opportunity to improve their speaking skills. A typical session has 15-20 people (and sometimes up to 30!) of varying English abilities exploring topics such as transgender rights, Haitian politics, and international differences in customer relations.
