Question:

Solve the following equation using the proper order of operations: ( -11 -6 - -5 + 1 + 3 x 2) ÷ 5

Alicia M.

Answer:

The proper order of equations is this Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication or Division (whichever is first), Addition or Subtraction (whichever is first). It is also remembered by the sentence Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally. First, we solve what is in the Parenthesis Subtraction in the Parenthesis first (-17 - -5 +1 +6) ÷ -5 Now addition since it comes next in the parenthesis (-12 + 1 + 6) ÷ -5 (-11 +6) ÷ -5 Divide -5÷-5 1 Tada!

Question:

How about an equation? (they are my favorite) -5 (1-5x) + 5 (-8x-2) = -4x-8x Solve for x

Alicia M.

Answer:

First, lets distribute the left side of the equation. -5(1) - -5(5x) + 5(-8x) - 5(2) = -4x-8x This simplified is: -5 + 25x - 40x - 10 = -4x-8x Now, lets simplify the equation more by combining like sets of numbers: -15 -15x = -12x Cancel out the -15x on the left side, by adding 15x to the right side of the equation: -15 = -12x + 15x Simplify -15 = 3x Divide the left side by 3 to solve for x: -5 = x You can double check your work by plugging in -5 for x and seeing if the equation equals out: -5 (1-5(-5)) + 5 (-8(-5)-2) = -4(-5) -8(-5) -5(1+25) + 5(40-2) = 20+40 -5(26) + 5(38) = 60 -130 + 190 = 60 60=60

Question:

What are key components you must have for a Crisis Communication Plan for a company?

Alicia M.

Answer:

You must have an evaluation of possible risks to the company, an established chain of command on who will speak and where they will speak, who the company's audiences are and who will be in charge of communicating with those audiences, a goal for each individual audience, a plan on how to achieve each goal, a calendar of what everyone will be doing and when in the case of a crisis, and an evaluation of each goal and how the plan worked as a whole. Each plan is tailored to each company and an individual crisis. A general crisis plan is recommended to be created first.
