What jobs are available in the field of education?
Education is a broad field and has many career paths related to it. Although many people typically think of elementary and secondary teachers, the field of education also includes principals, instructional coaches, curriculum development, professional development, and college professors to name a few. People choosing to enter the field of education often begin with teaching at the elementary, middle, or high school level. Some of these teachers will then seek out another career path in the field, which often requires a graduate degree in addition to work experience in the classroom.
What is "author's purpose"?
Author's purpose is the reason an author writes or creates a text. When one is asked to identify "author's purpose," they are expected to analyze a text and give the reason an author chose to write the piece. For example: The author's purpose is to inform the audience about the causes and effects of natural disasters.
What is the difference between argumentative and persuasive writing?
When writing a persuasive piece, the author employs persuasive techniques to appeal to the readers emotions, along with establishing trust and using logic. When writing argumentative pieces, the writer will based the argument on evidence. A well-written argument is objective and lets the reader decide their own position. Whereas, a persuasive piece will lead a reader to agree with the writer's beliefs.
