 Performs RNAi knock down of longevity associated genes, VPS54, VPS52, Rab6.2, and Rab6.1, to examine the effect of reduced gene expression on the life span of Caenorhabditis elegans.  Conducts on-going experiments to measure the effect of gene knockdown on the motility of C. elegans modeled for Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and Alzheimer’s.

 Conducted independent research on how the knock down of PTP4A3 phosphatase by JMS-053 small molecule inhibitor effected Kasumi-1 Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia (AML) cancer cell proliferation.  Analyzed the cell cycle of JMS-053 treated and non-treated AML cancer cells by flow cytometry and ImageStream instrumentation through monitoring cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.  Presented results at the Leadership Alliance National Symposium (LANS) in Hartford, CT.
